Hi!
I just came across this website today, and it's exactly what I was looking for, without the fees.
I am an 18 year old female student, and I began losing weight as a New Year's resolution just this year. I have been overweight my whole life and I finally found the motivation and courage to do something about it - my sister was pregnant and I was heading to university this september.
I dieted for a month in January, and lost about 6 or 7 lbs. Sadly, in February, my little nephew died after being born at 23 weeks. I really lost my will to diet after that. In June I finally got going again, and as of today, my loss is 27 lbs!
My heaviest weight was 259 lbs at the beginning of January, and it was a real shock to the system to realise that I really had to get healthy or face the health consequences. The kick in the *kitten* I had in June was after seeing some photos taken of me in late May - horrible!
I'm the lightest I have been in about two or three years. I haven't been under the 17 stone mark since 2007 or so. Recently I've also joined the gym with my dad, and since I have not much to do over the summer, I'm going around 4 times a week.
None of my friends are in the same boat as me, so I really needed the kind of support and encouragment that this kind of website and forum provides!
My heaviest weight was 259, my current weight is 232 lbs. My ultimate goal is to reach 145 lbs, which is just over 10 stone. As I am tall and have broad shoulders and hips, I think this weight will be fine for me. This adds my total weight to lose as 114 lbs. I've done 27 of that so far - so I'm (nearly) a quarter of the way there already.
This forum looks great and I'm excited to get started!
