Cardio vs Weight Training for fat loss

Should I focus my workouts on cardio or strength training? I have 10 lbs left to lose, and have been favoring cardio because of its calorie blasting nature. However, what are the benefits of strength training? Which one is better? Also, how do I figure out the correct calorie intake for weight lifting (it's not as easy to calculate calories burned).... Any personal experience with weights vs cardio? Thanks!
