Hello people
The more I read these forums, the more I grow conscious about my need to include weights into my exercise routine. I can afford paying my gym membership I definitely cannot afford a personal trainer!. I wonder If you people always hire a trainer or if you get your routines somewhere else. Can you recommend a good website/tutorial/book?
I'd like to know what has work for people in the long term. I am very concerned about doing it wrong and cause an injury , I know a few cases now.
Thank y'all

Hello,
I do Boot Camp classes at my gym. It's interval training so you have cardio and lift weight! Although the scale doesn't move as fast, I can definitely say my stomach flab has gone down and I have baby bumps on my arms
Best of Luck!

Don't know much about Nia Shanks, but two thumbs on the other rec's. Super simple, self guided.0 -

QFT... also, New Rules of Lifting there is a version for men and women. But I'd go with Starting Strength for reading about form and then either do the workouts there or SL5x5, personally. As a beginner those two programs are hard to beat.0 -
if you want to lift weights stay away from the cardio based "lifting" programs like Body Pump. they are cardio and not weight training.
listen to the poster above and do something like Starting Strength.0 -

Remember to start light, do LOTS of reps and get your form dialled in before increasing the weight too much.
You won't regret starting a decent strength program!0 -
You could try starting out with a website like this:

Pick a few exercises for each body part and you should be able to put together a decent workout. There are other more comprehensive sites out there as well, but this one is nice and simple for beginners.0 -
