been told I am loosing too fast

I started at 200 lbs 5 foot 3. I started thyroid meds because I found out I had hypothyroidism. I was fairly active but the energy loss the thyroid caused made me so tired all the time. I am now gluten free and it has helped so much. I had high colesterol. But not any more YAY. I have arthritis but after I stoped gluten and processed food ( mind the occasional emergency room late supper) I am pain free ( so far).

I lost 23 lbs now in 40 something days
11 lbs in like the first week (figured it was water weight.)
the rest was spread over the rest of the time.

I excercies lightly maybe 400-700 cals burned I cout everything including carrying my 13 month old arround the park and raceing with my four year old. dancing with my 12 year old and taking care of my 10 year old autistic son. I do not let myself feel hungry I would be impatient if I was plus I am breastfeeding still.

I do 20 min 30 day shread

Do you log everything? The last few days were 600 something and just over 1000 calories before that.

    October 9th: 646 calories eaten, 1162 remaining.

    October 8th: 696 eaten, 660 remaining

    October 7th: 1016 eaten, 622 remaining

    October 6th: 945 eaten, 816 remaining

    October 5th: 1100 eaten, 564 remaining

    October 4th: 1009 eaten, 554 remaining

    October 3rd: 666 eaten, 800 remaining

Edit: And then you locked your diary. How are we going to help if your diary is locked? And you say you were at the hospital but you were still logging 500+ calorie burns from exercise?

Your calorie goal is a goal because you're meant to reach it.
I want to be healthy not sick and not too skinny 145 would be nice as longas it is more muscle than flab

If that's the case then you definitely don't want a large deficit, since the larger your deficit the more likely you will be to lose muscle along with the fat.

Hmm, yes, I see you unlocked it again. I was literally in your diary, reading/copying when it gave me the 'This diary is private' message. That's cool, I'm not gonna fight with you over it.

I will say I have to go all the way to September to see a day where you eat over 1200, and you seem to average closer to 900. So yeah, maybe you're eating a bit too little. Just something to consider.

So 12 pounds over five weeks, once out of the water-weight stage. Basically two pounds a week.

That's not completely unreasonable, necessarily. How do you feel?

Sept 23rd. Randomly chosen, 600 cals.

I would suggest you log everything and eat. At 1000 cals you will likely aggravate the hormone issues you have. At 600? Most certainly.

    That's certainly not "too fast"!

then what would be too fast?

Well you seem to be going low carb, if your goals are proper indicators, so yes you're gonna want more fat and protein in your diet. Peanut butter, avacado, butter, oils on your salad/when you cook, and nuts. All easy ways to boost your fat macro.

Eat more calorie dense foods. Don't be afraid of fat-- full fat dairy, avocados, peanut butter, etc will help you reach your goal.

And you do need to log everything, especially if you expect good advice from us. We can only go off of what we can see.

You don't think ten pounds of water weight is a little...optimistic? Or at eating less than 1000 calories a day for an adult woman of average height in order to lose over 2 pounds a week is perhaps a bit too much/too fast.

I've watched people lose 5 pounds of water weight in a single day. At that weight, if "only" losing 2 pounds a week, she's eating more than is logged.

I understand being tired of being obese. I do.
    You'll get good help here.

Think long term. Think fitness and by finding a reasonable rate and eating well you'll stick to it longer.

Don't forget she said she's breastfeeding...little critter's taking about half her calories/day. I suggest seeing your doctor and a nutritionist to get some perspective on all this. For your baby if not for yourself.

You are definately not getting enough food. I would be more concerned about losing any lean mass you have. I know you want to lose weight fast but in doing so you put yourself at risk for a yo-yo diet.

Definitely seems like you should up the calories, but if you're not logging everything then that might not be true. Try to be really consistent with logging. That way, if something isn't working for you, you can adjust as needed. If you're not logging, then adjusting will be hard because you won't be sure what to adjust to. Does that make sense?

How do you feel? That's a big indicator of where you should go with this. Often if you're not getting enough calories, you'll feel a difference in your energy levels. When I eat at a big deficit for awhile, I start getting a little exhausted, and I can feel a difference when I up my cals for a week or two.

Your loss is reasonable; the first few pounds are water weight and the heavier you are the more water weight you lose in the first few days, so probably 5-8 lbs were water. 1285 cals/day sounds reasonable for your height, age and little exercise. You could definitely eat more healthy fat (like, 15 almonds or 1 tbsp nut butter or some avocado or olive oil) and get your calories closer to 1400 which might be more sustainable, but if you're happy at 1285, that's probably okay.

Track your averages for the week; make sure your avg daily calories are more than 1200 and you're fine. [yes 1200 is a random number, but it's an amount that gives you a chance at getting all the nutrients you need]

But what's the point of tracking if you don't track everything?

what are some high calorie foods you can suggest that way I can get them in without having to eat a big meal.

Find me two days where she eats 1285 calories.

Also she's breastfeeding, so if anything she needs that 1285+300-500 for her child.

OP: Did you say you were breastfeeding? It seems the original post has been edited but I could have sworn...

Wait you're breastfeeding? If so you definitely need to be adding in extra cals for that. I believe there's a way to add it to your diary although I'm not sure what it is.
