Ok so I have a quick question. I just bought a Polar HRM and Jillian Michaels's DVD Extreme shed and shred

I did the first level and burned 300 calories in 43 minutes (according to my HRM)

It seems high for my height and weight (5'3 and 116 pounds)

So I wanted to know if HRMs are good to estimate for those kind of workouts (circuit training) or is it only reliable for pure cardio

Thanks!

As long as you HR is elevated the whole time it's pretty good. I would never eat back 100% of exercise calories regardless of how they were calculated.

I have a Polar and I use it for Body Revolution every day. I would not see why it would not work well for the program. I actually find it interesting to see where my heart rate is during certain segments.

I am half way through her program and I love knowing what I am burning and have lost weight every week eating back almost all of my exercise calories so I would say it works fine. About 11 lbs in 6.5 weeks. I can't complain.
