Hey everyone,
I'm a 6 ft guy that is currently 180 lb. I've been working out for the past month and netting about 1320 calories ( what mfp recommends for 2 lbs loss). Netting 1320 meaning I eat about 1600 calories including the exercise calories.

I finished the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred, the first 3 weeks along with C25k.
I just finished the first week of 30 day ripper along with c25k.

My problem is that I am not losing weight, nor inches. Been stuck here for a while. Any advice?
additionally do you think it would help for me to begin a calorie cycle ( where i net 1300 2 days and 1 day net 1800 and so on.)

Thanks!

hi.. whoa u are tall! :o congrats on doing jillian michaels.. i saw that u live in karachi.. i live in lahore.. where did u get those dvd's? did u download them or something?
about hitting the weight plateau.. yeah i am there too :| its sooo demotivating -_- i have started drinking a detox where it makes you lose water weight and removes toxins from your body.. its cinammon and honey detox.. google it.. you'll find the receipe.. its really effective for short term just to move you from your plateau..
yeah i do think that calorie cycle will help.. plus start changing your workout.. our bodies adapt to one workout and it doesnt work anymore.. or if you change your workouts daily then you need to increase the time period of your exercise.. hope that helps :)

You aren't eating enough. I'm 5'2" and 115 lbs and eat more than you are! At 6 ft how much more are you trying to lose?

I agree with Mokey... not eating enough. I'm 5'2, 177lbs and eating 1700-1900 cals depending on workouts. Have you looked into any weight lifting programs? I was stalled for about 6 months... started a heavy lifting program and I lost 1lb last week.

Look into the New Rules of Lifting for Men (i'm doing the New Rules for Women). There is a chart in the book to help you figure out a good amount of calories based on your stats.

    Good luck!

I eat more than you too. Aren't you hungry? Chill out on the cardio some, and do some strength training.

:grumble: no detox needed since I assume you have working liver and kidneys.

seriously people! i havent put a gun on him and told him to FOLLOW IT.. people why so sentimental? chill out :p i only advised it because cinnamon and honey doesnt have any side effects.. we both belong to a country where cinnamon isn't sold as cassia so it wont have any side effects.. plus honey is reaallly really goood for health.. if its not having any side effects.. its worth a try... ofcourse if you want it too.. i wont be forcing anybody ofcourse.. AND IT MAY BE BALONY but whats the harm in tryin', huh?

It may be time to change your focus. You can lose more fat, faster and more consistently with resistance training than with pure cardio. If you dont have access to a gym or weights there are plenty of body weight work outs that you can find. Change up your work out oftten so your body is always trying to adapt.

This. I'm 5'4" and 170 lbs and eat 1700ish a day. I'm also doing New Rules of LIfting and don't eat back my exercise calories. Check out In Place of a Road Map on the forums, or the group. Lots of good advice there.

I'd say your amount of calories is too low as well, but if you're not losing weight, you're probably actually eating too much. Do you weigh all your food?

yes. i don't understand why people say he isn't eating enough if he isn't losing. Healthy or not, eating a low deficit as he says he is leads to weight loss.

not necessarily.. as much starved your body is the more it will hold on to water and that makes you gain water weight and it makes your body also difficult to lose that remaining fat as it feels it will be deprived of nutrients..
