So yesterday morning when I weighed I was 10st 3.6, then today I was 10st 1.2 despite eating nearly 1000cals over- if anything I thought I'd have gained from retaining water after eating badly so I was pretty surprised, does anyone know what might cause this? I definitely won't be logging that right away just in case it's back up by tomorrow but any insight into why that could occur would be interesting, thanks.

Your body can vary up to 5 pounds a day so that's just a normal fluctuation. That can be one of the problems with weighing daily knowing what is a fluctuation and what is an actual loss.0

Water weight. I was 2lb lighter this morning. Gotta love it!

This happens to me sometimes when I've been eating really well for a while and then go out for a meal or something. I figure the temporary increase in calories just kick starts my metabolism0

It can take up to 7 days for an "indiscretion" to show up on the scale.0
