I have lost a total of 76 pounds so far.. so I am all too familiar with the plateau blues
One thing I have learned from my extensive weight loss is that the closer you get to your ideal weight, the harder it is to lose. Don't let this discourage you though. There is one thing that will get you throught this.. and that is persistance.
Here is my advice if you are on the plateau... never stop learning new nutrition tricks. BUY A STEAMER! My husband bought one after one of his friends lost over 60 pounds. All you do is throw food in it and push a button. I can't believe how easy it is and it's the healthiest way to cook. If you ever need any advice on that, feel free to ask.
I have one other option that will help you break the plateau and that is vitamins/supplements that will alter your metabolism and put your body in optimum health and make you feel young and energetic. If you want more information on that, please feel free to message me, but I am not allowed to post on here because people think I am "advertising". I am not an advertiser. I believe in the products I use because they have changed my life and lifted me off of the most difficult plateau of my life.
I feel passionate about helping others lose weight, so any time you want some advice, I'm always here to help!0 -
I seem to plateau every time I'm about to hit one of the milestone numbers. It's incredibly demoralizing to be half a pound away from a particular goal for weeks and weeks.
After 2 or 3 weeks of a stall, I increase my eating by a few hundred calories extra per day for a week. So far, it has worked. I think your body needs a break every so often and as long as you stay within maintenance range, it's all good.0 -
I start a new fitness plan, play around with calories, recently upped mine and it worked!0

This works for me! I basically just have to change my routine, workouts, and calories and then I start seeing results again. But honestly, every time I've plateued, it's because I started slacking: I wasn't being as active, I was eating too many calories, and eating a little too much fat. As soon as I started exercising regularly again, lowered my calories by a couple hundred, and lowered my fat intake just a little, the scale started going down again! :laugh:0
