wls and cancer calories

Hello everyone,

I had weight loss surgery on Aug 5th (wls) and was diagnosed with breast cancer on September 25th. Anyone else having issues with the diets for each of these issues??? It's been a push to get 8-900 calories a day in let alone the amount of fluid I need. I suspect it's only going to get worse after surgery and once the chemo starts. Any advice??? (please, no apologies or sympathy, just advice).

I would suggest googling the shakes that body builders make when they are bulking. I've seen some of those hit around the 2000 calorie mark and probably go down a bit easier than 2000 calories worth of food.

Lots of olive oil, peanut butter, nuts, fruit juices, avocado, full fat milk etc

I'm sure you've been told to eat your protein first. Instead of drinking water, I'd concentrate on bariatric protein shakes since they are formulated for WLS patients. I'd ask for a consult with a nutritionist to work out an appropriate food plan. I realize that being only 2 months out from WLS you aren't going to be eating the stuff suggest by the previous poster.
