Yoga video for heavy lifters?

I do stronglifts5x5, and while I have never been that flexible, I find that I am even less so since I started weight training. I started researching, and I found several articles on T-nation, bodybuilding.com, live strong etc that talk about the way muscles shorten with heavy lifting and the benefits of flexibility on increasing lifts and decreasing injuries.
Does anyone have a good 10-15 minute yoga video, preferably on YouTube or fitnessblender, that they have used successfully? I would prefer a video that explains why you are doing the poses, and which muscles you should feel the stretch in. Probably one designed for men. I am NOT looking for the spiritual ones with a lot of talk about chakras and communing with the universe. (Those are great for some, just not what I'm looking for)

I've practiced quite a range of forms... Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, standard Hatha, Sivananda, Dru...
In my experience I see most men in Bikram or Ashtanga.
IMHO novices to any yoga should find themselves a good class with a decent instructor as a DVD won't give you feedback if your form is ****e!
ps: If you're female why do you want a DVD "designed for men"? :huh:0 -

My gym does not have any classes, and I really don't have time to add that to my 5-6 day/wk workout schedule anyway. I'm looking for something quick that I can add on the evenings after I lift. I will have my friend who does yoga, but who knows nothing about lifting, check my form once I get a routine.
I said probably one designed for men, because those are the one that tend to talk about targeting big muscles, stabilizers, etc. Most women still do not lift heavy. I found a couple videos like this, but they were very short, showing only a couple of moves.0 -

Unfortunately for your specific issue, no I don't. I do however remember finding bunches of yoga videos/books geared toward people with back problems that offered "modified" poses and instruction. Modify is what it's called when you are instructed to do the pose in a whole different way by use of blocks or ropes or just a slightly different or sometimes wildly different pose if your abilities are not up to par for the pose being done. Usually this limitation is caused by low flexibility so I think you will find these useful if you feel you are less flexible.0 -

This is probably the best advice for your specific situation. If you look up Jen Hilman on youtube, she has a really good series of stretching videos that explain what you're doing, why, how to work your way into a stretch if you can't do what she's showing, and how to get more advanced. It's not yoga, so there's no chanting or downward dog. Her video for hips is amazing, and she has a good one for shoulders/neck/back too. I use them every day when I wake up.

'10 Minute Solution: Yoga' is the best group of quick, nicely arranged series that emphasize great stretches (but not so slowly) that I've found. Keep in mind that I'm not normally looking for quick DVDs for yoga, lol. But these asanas she chose are really nice. You can always do more than one 10-min chunk, of course, and the DVD lets you program in your own routines that way.
There are some regular strengthening asanas as well, but they aren't so challenging as to need a break from most people's lift days. It's also not the very slow yoga that I like to do when I have more time. It's just a good all around rejuvenating mix, imho.0
