Last year I was dieting and exercising. Last year I was LOSING weight. Last year I was the THINNEST I had been in YEARS. Last year I was doing well. This year I've gained it all back and THEN some. I'm now 9lbs heavier than when I started last year and I'm 13lbs away from being the weight I was 3 years ago. Last year I had lost around 60lbs. It seems like overnight it's all come back. Am I the only one that has done everything right and failed? All those old habits came back with a vengeance after fighting hard to break them?

You aren't the only one...I didn't gain quite as much back, but I got relaxed and lazy and I'm on the down turn again...
I lost 45 pounds from Oct. 2010 - Aug. 2012 (yep, almost 2 years, I'm obviously a slow learner). I had gone from 190-170 before July 2011, gained 10 back by Jan. 1st 2012 and decided at 180, I was never going to see that weight AGAIN. So, I really buckled down that New Years Day and by August I was 143 (exceed my original goal of 157). I was eating right, exercising 4-5 days a week, really dedicated. But I got scared that I really should afford to lose much more (I'm 5'11 and really didn't have much more I could afford to lose), so I quit working out while I concentrated on eating a bit more. I started a new relationship that September 2012 and pretty much let things get a bit out of control. Was up to 147 by February 2013, 157 by July 2013. I vowed to never see 160 again, EVER, so at the end of August I got my head back into the game and now I'm a tad south of 150. My goal was to be 150 by this coming Friday (my BF's Sisters Wedding in Atlanta) and exceeded that last week. My ultimate goal is 147 by January 1st, 2014, which obviously means being good at Thanksgiving, my 35th birthday, and Christmas, and stay under 150 for as long as I can. Maintaining is hard. It's easy to tell yourself that now you've lost the weight, it's easy. It will stay off. It doesn't.
Unfortunately, you just have to find it in yourself to get back on the horse. You obviously know what to do and when you get your mind back in it, you'll be back to near goal again very soon. By this time next year you'll be where you want to be if you start now!0
