Is it ok to repeat meals?

So basically I have the same thing for breakfast everyday! 2 eggs, 2 turkey sausages, milk, and coffee. It comes out to about 400 calories.(Just recently added milk to the mix to get in some more much needed calories plus it is amazing.)
I was just wondering if it's fine to do that? Will it have any negative influence over my goals??

No. Your body will start to get used to it, your metabolism will slow down, and you will start to lose weight more slowly (assuming you are eating at a defecit). Our bodies were designed for variety. And if you eat protein powder you will get bulky.0

As long as it fits into your calorie goals and you eat a varied diet throughout the course of the day, having the same things for breakfast, lunch, snacks, etc. everyday shouldn't pose a problem. In fact, sticking with the same foods or similar ones consistently makes calorie tracking a lot easier.0

^this. I'd like that feature too as I tend to fall into ruts and just eat the same things until I don't feel like eating them anymore.
I don't know anything about this. Only my gut tells me that variety is good and maybe it would be bad to eat only the exact same thing everyday forever if it were lots of the same foods. I see no reason not to repeat meals you like though?0 -

For a second I thought he was being serious until I got to the protein part. Which I know is a myth Along with the get bulky by weight lifting myth. Posts. Like that are just rude, some people rearly do need help, this is supposed to be a supportive environment, not a place where people are scared to ask questions because they'll be mocked. Seriously if you front have real advice gtfo0 -
I think it's alright, but you really should try to eat something different at LEAST two days out of the week.0

I eat the same thing for breakfast also, though I do switch it up on the weekends or non-work days and I think I've done pretty well. It's a little boring, but its easy.0

Ppppfffttt! Well, if it's not okay, I'm in serious trouble.
For the record, my dad ate corn flakes and drank strong coffee with milk and sugar for breakfast every single morning for well over 70 years and he was in great shape. He NEVER varied from that breakfast, even when we went on vacation and ate breakfast in restaurants. Nope, he had to have his Kellogg's Corn Flakes and coffee. His picture should have been on the cereal box!0 -
I eat a cereal bar wth either sunbutter or peanut butter almost every day. I vary the brand of cereal bar based on what is on sale in the gluten free section. Sometimes I buy a gt muffin mix and throw them in the freezers at work for variety, but I am out of muffins at work right now.
I think it is perfecftly fine to eat essentially the same breakfast. I do try to vary my lunches and dinners though. I am easily bored...0 -
I don't think it's a big issue if you're hitting your calorie and macro targets and getting a good variety of foods throughout the day, and if you don't have any medical issues that make limiting cholesterol an issue. Presumably you're getting some vegetables , fruits, and fiber at your later meals, and I'd be a little concerned if you were repeating the exact same one or two veggies every day, because different veggies provide different vitamins and minerals. Overall, I'd say it's easier to avoid nutritional deficiencies if you get a variety of foods from day to day, especially if you're not obsessively tracking not just the nutrients that MFP tracks but others as well (e.g., folate), but I think if it's just breakfast you're repeating, that's probably not the most important thing for you to worry about.0

Yes, it is fine. Thank goodness! lol...
I eat the same thing almost every day for breakfast, too. Very little variation. I usually eat the same thing for dinner two days in a row, too. Gotta eat those leftovers. If it was going to slow things down I'd have noticed by now. But the fat is still melting away at a good rate...0 -
I think a lot of people probably have the same thing for breakfast on most days, because time is limited, and you just want to get some fuel, and what we think of as breakfast foods are more limited than other meals. I probably end up having a granola bar, fruit and cereal bar, or Pop Tart with coffee sitting at my desk about three days a week; sometimes I have events I have to attend first thing in the morning, so I end up having whatever seems worth the calories from a pastry tray. On the days when I miraculously have left myself enough time to get breakfast at home, I'll either have cold cereal with milk and fruit, or raw oatmeal with yogurt, fresh or dried fruit, and nuts. I never get a hot breakfast during the week, so I kind of envy your sausage and eggs (OK, it would have to be bacon and eggs for me).0

I do it. I also eat the same meal for lunch every single day. It helps me keep on track during stressful periods. I once had a nutritionist tell me that it is not okay to repeat meals every day since you could develop a "sensitivity" to the food from eating it so often, but I have not experienced that.0

Slayer, why are so naughty today?0 -
There's no problem with eating the same meals every day, so long as throughout your day, weeks, etc you get some variety other wise you'll start to get a deficiency in some of your bodies needs ie protein, vitamins, calcium etc.. they say the first meal of the day is the most important, so why not start that way, the only fact you need to consider is the amount of eggs you are eating, you may wish to look into it as the yoke is high in cholesterol ( not good ), my consumption of eggs led to a raised cholesterol level which has taken three months to get back down......0

Peruse my diary ... weekdays at work, I eat almost the same thing almost every day .. 85 down, 25 to go
ETA: as long as it hits your macros .. you can t be off on a macro for a long period of time - find something balanced, and if that keeps you on trakc - keep rolling0
