In my diet I have a lot of sugar and diabetes runs in the family so I am trying to be a bit more aware of my intake to avoid getting it later on in life.
I like to have cereal for breakfast but I have noticed they are all really high in sugar and that's not even including the milk.
I get bored of things like Weetabix and corn flakes so I tend to like more fun and interesting cereal but not mussil/granola because it is way high and only get a small amount because it is dense calories and I'm starving after... Lol
So does anyone know some fairly low sugar cereal?????????

How about finding other yummy things for breakfast like fruit, scrambled eggs, a banana, handful of walnuts and chopped apple and blueberries.
If you really have to have cereal than how about a bowl with oats, coconut flakes, sultanas, dried cranberries and chopped up dates?
You can make your own cereal too.0 -
Shredded Wheat.
Steel cut oatmeal. You can add nuts, seeds, fruit. Very good and tasty.0 -
Bacon and egg.0
-
smaps cereal...no sugar added..1 gram per serving0

How can you get bored of Weetabix? You can dress it up with all kinds of fruits, nuts, yogurt etc! This week I'm having raspberries with my weetabix.0

My goto cereal is raisin bran which has 190 calories per cup, not counting milk. DH likes cheerios with 100 calories a cup, also not counting milk. He adds blueberries, which brings the calorie count up just a bit. I don't eat cereal every day, though. Sometimes I have eggs and other times I have cottage cheese and fruit. I know oatmeal is a healthy choice, but I rarely eat it. It just isn't "my thing." Good luck.0

Kashi makes some lower sugar cereals, I've tried Cinnamon Harvest and it's good w/ some almond milk. Also regular Cheerios and Fiber One Crunchy Clusters. I actually only have dry cereal every once in a while because it doesn't fill me up like eggs and oatmeal does. Good luck!0

gluten free porridge, coconut mille, berries and honey. Try to stay away from cereal, cooked breakfast - eggs, bacon etc...much better for you.0

Have you tries over night oats? I hated oatmeal but never thought to eat it cold. I'm obsessed! It's so easy to throw different things in the night before and it's ready when you wake up.0

This is what we have and my BF eats Corn Chex too. We add things like peanut butter and/or nuts, blueberries, cranberries, etc as well.0 -

yea i like that plus it would be nice to have something warm now winters coming and i could have a snack mid morning if i made it with water but maybe sometimes milk?0 -
kind of high0

I hate sweetened cereal! Even as a kid I wanted cereal that wasn't sweet. I miss Cheerios, now that I have to be gluten free, when I get the urge for cold cereal. Corn Chex are pretty low in sugar at 3 grams per serving. Erewhon makes corn flakes with less than 1 gram of sugar per serving, but it's also low in salt and tastes like nothing at all.
Kippers, eggs, steak, and smoked salmon all make a great breakfast, but sometimes I specifically want a bowl of cereal with milk.0 -
I love hot oatmeal (made with water or almond milk) mixed with a scoop of chocolate protein powder.0

What do you consider a lot of sugar? I eat Kashi Go Lean Crunch almost every day with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I think the cereal has 13g of sugar, but I believe it's not processed sugar.0

Not sure what country you are in but I like the Nature's Path organic cereals. Many of them are combos of flakes with clusters...even just the flakes are usually ancient grains and very tasty. Kashi makes some great cereals as well.0

Oatmeal with fruit, Shredded Wheat (not frosted), Bran flakes, puffed wheat, Grape-nuts Flakes... you can add pieces of fresh fruit or raisins to liven it up a bit0

I have found Kashi Go Lean... 13g of protein, 9g of Fiber and 26g of Carbs but when you minus the Fiber, it brings it down to only 17g of Carbs. My nutritionist was pleased to see this in my repertoire of choices for a low carb, high protein breakfast.0

i think your better off avoiding cerial altogether, its a pretty high gylcemic index food, even the 'healthy' ones.
oat meal would be a better choice0 -

wow suprised it has that much protein! thats a good one, are you a diabetic? idk if its technically still the best for a diabetic0 -
Right now I'm trying only clean foods, but when I was allowing that type of food my FAVORITE is Peanut Butter whole grain cheerios and then i use ALMOND MILK. you can't even tell the difference and about half the calories!0
