Hi
I have just purchased a heart rate monitor and when I used it to go a run, it said that I had burnt more calories than mfp estimates? Is this correct as everyone says that mfp over estimates the calories that you burn? I'm just a little bit confused?

When I jog, my calories are more than what MFP says. Go with what your HRM says.

Double check your stats on the HRM, just to be safe, but it might be accurate. Everyone is different, and MFP burns are just an estimate. I consistently burn more than MFP estimates on runs.

I have found that MFp overestimates my strength training, but underestimates my cardio. I'm a smoker, so my body works harder at something like running than a non smoker of my same height and weight. Assuming your HRM asked for stats like height weight age and vO2max, I'd go with it's estimated burn.
