Is it just me...?

I love MFP for the support and proof that those who went before me have and do make it BUT...

Even though I'm always happy for those who have made amazing accomplishments, I can't help but think of how stoked I would be to have some of your "before" bodies!

Is it just me or am I just stuck in a grass-is-greener perspective?

Just a thought.

You have to learn to love your body and focus on what it can do. But NOT accept that you cannot improve it. It's a fine line. You'll get there. What can you do today that you couldn't do two weeks ago? (not scale related, here)

I've lost 100 pounds from my highest weight and have a strong, lean body but still look in the mirror and criticize myself more often than not. Will you ever truly be happy with your body? Will I? Strength training has completely changed the way I look at myself. Are you lifting heavy things? You should!

YEah I just saw a barbell named woman who had an awesome before body that I'd kill for. and in true badaZZ fashion she woke up one day and said Nope, not good enough! and proceeded to start a lifting program that toned her all up. now she's gonna add more muscle to that. it's amaze. but I like seeing that. I like seeing people who are already awesome going, ya know what, I think I can be awesomer..stay tuned for perfection. I like ppl like that.

ETA: I think ppl like that make this whole fitness thing more like a matter of degrees than a good or bad situation. Like fat girl bad. skinny girl good. There are so many versions and levels of fit and this allows lots of ppl with lots of goals and lots of spots along lots of scales to come together in common goals or like mindedness rather than pant size, height, or weight goals.

Deginitley just a matter of grass being greener....Everybody is trying for something they don't yet have (unless they're maintaining). I would love to have The Rocks "before" body but rather than getting upset I'm not a 260 lb bodybuilder, I try to motivate my self to work even harder because I know he's been at it for most of his life and is nearly twice my age....I don't know about you but I love looking at the guys on my friends list that have been at this for so long, and have the bodybuilder/model look to them because it inspires me and makes me realize that anything is possible....Just remember no one comes out of the womb looking like they do now...it's just a matter of how long they've been at it and how much dedication they put into it....best of luck, try not to get discouraged you can do anything you set your mind to, I promise you that!
