Hey guys,

We all get to that point where we're not kicking butt as much as usual because our enthusiasm wanes a little. I've seen a trend on my FL of late of people suffering from this, and I'd be lying if I said I'm not right there with them.

Anyone out there actually recommend a week-long break from working out to kick start the feeling of wanting to get back to the gym?

**Oh, and I do mean a break, not a break-up. I am the sort of person who will go back to it after those 7 days are up, rather than letting it roll into 2 weeks, a month... Fat again.**

I'd definitely recommend it. Even if it's mostly mental rather than physical, I feel so much more refreshed and ready to kick *kitten* after taking a little planned break.

Working out is easy when you have a specific goal in mind, or a race you're training for, or something like that - when it becomes just trying to maintain activity levels then it can get boring and difficult to stick to.

Maybe while you're not at gym you can invest a little of the extra time researching/planning a new workout schedule/routine that you can get excited about.

And don't stress about undoing all your hard work or anything like that, a week isn't very long!

Not sure if I could tear myself away from the gym for an entire week, but I think you may have a point here. I was really dreading going to work out yesterday. Usually that just equates to a typical "case of the Mondays" for me, and then it's all good once I get to the gym. But no, I got there and did this half-assed work out, which is so unlike me. It is possible that I could use a break.

See, I totally understand that Monkey, and that's what I've been feeling. I just can't seem to look forward to it right now, whereas not so long ago I would really look forward to it. I can't deny that I feel great after, and always do, but I am also guilty of a half-assed workout here and there of late.

If you know you'll go back! I need a routine or I'm screwed, lol. I never thought I'd get out of some habits, and yet I managed to for a loooong while. Mine was after a lot of travel, though, so hopefully y'all have to drive by the gym or something during your break :)
