Dapo shot - birth control

Alright, I know that one of the side effects to the Depo is weight gain. I have been taking the shot for almost a year (planning on switching the next time I go in for a shot.) Before I started taking the Depo, I weighed about 185 (still over weight) but over the year I have been taking it, my highest weight was around 217. Well, I have been trying to lose weight for almost a month now and I was wondering if the Depo shot could prevent you from losing weight or make it harder? Not trying to make excuses for myself..just genuinely curious. And I know birth control effects everyone differently.

    I started on depo and gained 20 lbs practically overnight. But then when I really started to focus, the weight did start coming off. I'm getting my tubes tied next year, I think, so we'll see if coming off it helps at all. I think it will.
