So i lift weights (bodybuilding routine) 5 times a week, I would like to find out what my TDEE is to an even more accurate formula that is why I am looking into fitbit. The question is....once i get the TDEE can i set myfitnesspal to automatically add a surplus of 10-20% calories to that every day? Thanks

I am looking to gain .5lbs a week, very precise, trying to minimize fat gains...think this will help me succeed0

Use the custom goals feature on MFP. Set your calorie goal to your TDEE + surplus0

oh okay sounds good, but another thing that has me confused is weight training. That burns calories too, but I know you are supposed to eat the same amount of food on your off days you are not training for muscle repair...fitbit doesn't track that so how does that work out0

also what use would fitbit be to me after i found my tdee with my goals of slow muscle bulking (.5lbs a week)0

The FitBit is more of a tool that tells you how lazy or not lazy you're being IMO. My observed TDEE is higher than the FitBit reports so if you want to know what your TDEE is just look at your past data and do the math?0 -
You can log strength training as an exercise activity on the fitbit app.
After wearing fitbit for a month or so that should give you a fair idea of your TDEE. Beyond that some people may stop wearing it. Others will keep using it to keep an eye on daily step goals etc, but if your main exercise is lifting then you may not find it particularly useful beyond your initial TDEE assessment period.0 -
i found out that my brother has a fitbit classic (the first one they came out with) that he does not use... does anyone have experience with this....is it accurate?0
