Gym Rant/Rave

So my husband and I have decided to take the plunge and set up a home gym including a power rack, full weight set, bench, and olympic barbell. The rack won't be here until next week, so these are my last few workouts at my gym.
While I was lifting today, I kept thinking of all the things I will miss and all the things I can't wait to be away from.
What I'll miss:
Being motivated by everyone around me
People watching
50,000 mirrors (I'm super vain)
What I can't wait to get away from:
Waiting for treadmills/weights
Driving
Suddenly realizing my new t-shirt is transparent when I sweat
Anyone else have things at the gym they'd love to get away from or can't live without?

If I had a home gym I would love the option of working out whenever I wanted and no wait for the squat rack. However with a gym, I feel more motivated to work out, I love their protein smoothies, and yes mirrors.. I love the mirrors. Oh and people watching..0

I've been contemplating setting up a better home gym, but I love being able to go at lunch. I work out longer than I would on my dark basement. Would like the option to do both though.
Lunch workouts don't give me much to rant about since the gym isn't busy. People watching is fun. Not crazy about dues I guess.0 -
Congratulations on building a home gym. I put mine together in 2009 and it has more than paid for itself. I got:
Rack
Texas power bar
Cheap chrome bar
800(ish)lbs in old york plates
plate tree
platform for deadlifting
various dumb bells
about 200lbs in 1" plates
numerous bands
However, I still like to go to commercial gyms from time to time because I like to people watch. We went on Monday and it was fun playing with all the equipment we don't have.
You won't need mirrors though. In fact that's the one thing I don't like about commercial gyms are the mirrors. We were taught to lift without mirrors and I can't squat facing one anymore.0 -
I do miss the mirrors and the eye candy, but I love being able to go lift whenever I want and not wait for anything.0

I would miss my Zumba homies. We do weights together too, and other classes, besides zumba. Also, Having a set time that I have to be there for classes keeps me on track. Too many distractions at home to do a good workout. More like too many kids. Lol. Also, I do have a little weight bench with like 100lb' of weights and a treadmill. Oh, and dumbells.0

It might just be me (or a girl thing), but nothing motivates me to do more squats than seeing how great my butt looks in the mirror :blushing:0
