Insanity and T25

I am currently in my second week of Insanity. I am just curious, if I do Insanity in the morning and then add a shorter workout at night, (like T25 or 30ds) would this be over working? Thanks

If you are doing insanity to its full potential, you shouldn't need ANYTHING else on top of that - nor have the energy to do another workout. Those workouts are hard on the body with all the jumping and squatting, so IMO doing 2 a day would be counter productive.0

Agreed! I had great results with Insanity alone, and am now on T25, incorporating Body Beast. Insanity is a tough program and I would focus on that alone to get your best results and also to ensure you stick it out, and then you can move onto other programs. I had the same idea when I first started Insanity, thinking I would get results quicker, but I learned patience is key, and I think had I overwhelmed myself, I never would have made it...month 2 is killer!!0

I'm not sure how that works out in dollars lol, but because it's a newer program, you probably wont find too many deals on it like you can the older ones. But so far, I would say that it's well worth the price for folks short on time...heck of a workout and FUN!0 -

I do (or try to do) Alpha Focus T25 in the mornings and then 3 days a week I enjoy going to a 45 min Zumba class in the evenings.
With these two cardio heavy routines, should I wait until after I finish the 10-weeks of T25 before I try to fit in a weight lifting routine as well?
I am fairly new to 'consistent' working out and healthy eating. I enjoy both of the routines I'm doing now and am staying motivated, but I've read that weights should also be incorporated to keep from losing lean muscle mass.
Any ideas or recommendations?0 -

Hey Spx,
Zumba is intense but it is not as high impact on your joints as T25. Just make sure your getting plenty of fluids (water, powerade,etc) and eating fruits and veggies between the workouts. About the weight training, I would finish the full program first and then look in to weight training. T25 will give you a good kick start and then once your finished with that then you can move on to something else. I'm on week three of alpha and it is no joke. Good luck.0 -

T25 isn't quite as intense as Insanity, but sounds like you still have a lot going on with zumba too, and since you're fairly new to "consistent" workout as you say, I would agree to hold off until you finish, and then maybe a second round you can start incorporating weight lifting. Although T25 isn't "weight lifting" it still is helping you to gain/build lean muscle mass. I think we all get too eager for results, and then burn ourselves out. I know I'm very guilty of this and this is the first time I THINK I'm doing things right to keep it as a lifestyle change. Slow and steady wins the race :drinker:0 -
Thank you ilb320 and kristen. I had heard that weights were incorporated into the Beta part of T25, so that's kind of where the hesitation to start an actual lifting regimen came from. I'm glad you both had similar advice. Less confusing than some of the forum answers I have seen on this site.0
