Happy hump day guys! My name is Lindsey and I'm a 27 yr old wifey and mom of two from Florida. My weight loss journey started last Monday when I hopped on my scale and saw that I've gained even -more- weight since the birth of my second child(he's 6 months old today!).
Back in May, at the encouragement of one of my coworkers, I signed up for a 5k taking place in February. I figured it would keep me accountable. It hasn't...until now. Y'know when you have one of those crazy paradigm shifts and your eyes fly open? That's what happened to me. My health(if I should call it that) was like a training program to become Jabba the Hutt. Large quantities of high calorie foods and -no- exercise. It's no wonder I felt so crappy all of the time. And I knew in the back of my mind that that was not how I wanted to live.
So here I am, a little more than a week later, I am already down 6 pounds(may be water weight/less food), and my only discomfort is a victorious soreness from power walking my first 5k last night. I am going to smash my February 5k. It feels great to say that!
In short, I need running buddies, especially ones who are just starting out like myself(although seasoned runner are also a great inspiration and source of advice). A journey like this is so much more fun and rewarding if you have a support system. So what d'ya say? Want to be friends?
