The diet is restrictive, but healthy. It's tough to stick to, but it definitely worked for me. I did about four months with QWC of Atlanta, and lost about 50 lbs on the program. I transitioned on my own to MFP and lost another 40 lbs. It isn't necessary, but it can be helpful if you need strict order to get on track. It forces you to get used to eating at home more, cooking more, and having more fresh fruit and vegetables. The supplements are pretty much a scam though. I'd recommend doing MFP instead, but if you're going to do something more restrictive, at least these are monitored by registered dieticians (at least, mine was).

Don't pay anyone to tell you to eat less, move more, and take their crappy supplements.

    Exactly.

This website is free. Track your calories, eat at a moderate deficit, do some exercise you enjoy and don't worry about supplements (they don't really work anyway).

My coworker's father in law did it last year. Everyone was amazed at his quick change, lost around 60 pounds for the holiday.

As of my coworker's wedding in August, he's gained it all back.

I'm currently following their program and learning how to eat healthily. I'm learning portion control and what a portion size really should be. It may not work for everyone, but it's definitely working for me. The emphasis is on fresh foods - veggies and fruits, with some starches and some fat. I don't find it limiting at all and am hardly ever hungry. I get 3 meals and 3 snacks per day. So far I'm down 35 pounds, with a lot to go. I consider this a life changing experience and will take away good eating habits. Like all successful plans (I don't like the word diet as that seems so short-term without lasting effects), this one takes some work and dedication but the rewards are worth it! Good luck with whatever program you choose to follow! P.S., I'm doing this without any supplements or meal replacements.

Thank you so much for all the comments and opinions. After finding out how crazy expensive it is, I think if I'm going to try to do this myself first. I've set my goals at 1500 calories, 25 grams of fat and high protein low carb, and of course begin exercising.

    Sounds like a reasonable plan.

Meh. I've tried things on my own for years and still got this big. They hold me accountable and help me prevent even small cheats. I'm on it and have lost 20 lbs in 7 weeks. I feel good. And I'm not worried about regaining because I'm spending 5 months breaking my bad food habits and learning proper portions. All about what works for you. :)

I'm on mfp just for the community and to track my fitness and because I like to watch my weight drop on the ticker.
