Just starting out Day one Please help

I can not understand if my alloted calorie intake is 2000 and I eat and exercise why am I suppose to eat more?? Shouldn't I be eating less. So confused...How is eating more going to help me loose weight?

You should consume more calories and nutrients than your body needs for basic organ function and cellular regeneration (hair, skin, nails).BMR is what you'd burn everyday if you were in a coma. Eat more than that.
TDEE is every single calorie you burn all day. This is your Total Daily Energy Expenditure. This is your BMR plus all the movement you get, whether it's jiggling your knees at your desk, running a marathon or lifting weights. Eat less than that.
