Looking to lose more!

Hey everyone. I decided to join this forum in an effort to improve my life.
I'm a 22 year old male, and I've been overweight my whole life. It wasn't until a doctor's appointment this past April where my weight peaked at 307 and thought, "Okay. Enough is enough."
My thought pattern was that I should try and get as healthy as I can while I'm still young. I'm 22 and people my age have a lot of energy if they know how to tap into it. It seemed to me to be much easier to try and lose weight now than wait until it's too late (not that it's ever too late).
From that April until September, I was able to get down to 275, where I've more or less been stuck at since. This October I've decided to really step up my efforts, and I've TRIED to exercise every single day (I've been skipping a day here and there, but not in the past week).
This website really seems like a great tool I can use to help keep myself on track, even if I happen to skip a day or two. It seems like keeping count of my calories will help me manage what I eat better.
Aside from all that, can anyone give me any tips to help out?
I'm glad to be here, and I look forward to changing my life for the better.

Hey,there --
Welcome!!! My suggestion would be to use the "Search" tool - chances are very high that any question you have has already been discussed ad nauseum here on MFP. There are also several groups dedicated to folks who want/need to lose 100+ lbs that are highly supportive; you might want to join some of those, as well!
Best of luck to you -- we're all on this journey together!!!!0 -
Welcome to MFP. Well done on losing 32lbs first of all. It shows that somehow your body has reacted to a change in lifestyle. Of course the rate of loss does slow down, therefore it may not be anything to do with something you might not be doing. I lost 57lbs and manged to maintain for a while, then I deactivated my account here. That was my mistake. I wasn't monitoring my food and I've put back on 17lbs that's why I'm back.
On weeks when the weight slowed down it did get frustrating for me.
Over exercising can be as bad as not exercising. I joined a gym but only went a couple of times a week, otherwise I'd walk to the train station for work (about a mile and a half). Make sure your body is able to recover. Drink water rather than coffee. Good snacks such as dried fruit or nuts can be a stop gap between meals.
Weigh out your food and cook from scratch rather than relying on ready meals, and log your food and exercise so you might be alerted to possible mistakes in diet.
Gaining friends for support is one of the best things about MFP. People from all over the world share the same hopes and fears. If you would like a new friend you are welcome to add me.
