Eating more and Increased Hunger

I was eating way too low of calories for a couple years and working out way too much for how much I was eating. The past few weeks I've slowly increased my calories. I'm now eating 200-300 calories more a day than I was a few weeks ago, and planning on going up a few hundred more over time.

Ever since increasing this small amount I've been so incredibly hungry, all the time.

Is this a sign my metabolism is recovering? Or what? Its' driving me nuts!

I was like this when I increased my calories too. Wanted to eat everything in sight. The constant hunger went away within maybe two weeks for me.

I took it as my body saying, "OMFG SHE'S FINALLY EATING SUFFICIENT AMOUNTS!!! Get her to eat as much as possible while the going is good!"

I'd guess this is some basic, ancient response from your body. We're programmed to eat as much as possible when food is available (going back to our prehistoric hunter/gatherer times) so your body probably thinks that it's suddenly a time of plenty and wants to take advantage of it while it can.
