Small elliptical for apartment?

I have seen a few of these listed on Amazon, but the reviews are not good.... Can anyone recommend a model you like?

We have a small gym at work. The equipment is more what I'd call "home use" models. Can't recall the brand name, but will have a look tonight & update. Just marking up thread now. Sorry, not much use this second, but I'm sure you'll get some more useful replies.

Be really careful with purchasing an elliptical. The machine needs to be really sturdy so you don't get any side to side movement. The cheaper ones tend to be wobbly and that can really mess up your hips. You want forward and back motion only. I have a NordicTrack that sort of folds up to take less space for storage and it's very good. They also have one that's built differently and is much smaller.

I purchased a small one (no handles) and used it for less than a year. It wasn't very good...............no matter how much I'd oil it up, it would get creaky and crunchy......and I had to put a chair in front of me to use it, because there was nothing to hold on to! I sold it at a rummage sale this summer......................

The one at work is a Schwinn A40 Elliptical Trainer - Main issue as others have said is the sturdy issue. Although this isn't bad to be honest. I've also had a mini stepper in the past as above poster. I wouldn't bother with that though as I ended up binning mine too. Hope you get sorted

Thanks, everyone!!! I just might have to consider joining yet a third gym - one that is closer to home. I have one near my office and another one which i LOVE but is a subway ride away from where I live. When I get all involved with other things on the weekend, getting to the favorite gym takes too much time... But I am committed to re-gaining my fitness this year, so I am going to consider all options. .
