Logging Chicken On The Bone

Hello fellow MFP-ers! I practically live off chicken, and whilst I have always found breast meat easy to log, (all I need to do is weigh it after all), I have always found it awkward to eat chicken from the bone, (legs, thighs, the whole bird, etc), as I am unaware of how to accurately come up with it's calorific value. Weighing it would also take the bones into account, which of course I don't eat. The only solution I can come up with is weighing the chicken before I eat it, and then weighing the leftovers after and logging the difference. Has anyone got a better strategy as I feel a little odd and overly pernickety running into the kitchen after dinner to weigh the leftovers... :blushing:

What you described is exactly what I do. barring that, I remove the meat from the bone before eating to weigh.

That's also what I do ;) But you can also remove the meat before eating.

Ah, I see. Well, thanks anyway guys! I just feel a little ridiculous sometimes, and my family will sure have a giggle about it. Sometimes nothing beats eating meat straight off the bone.
