Hi Everyone! My reasons to be here and do this....

Hi...I'm Lynn. This final time an I'm in it for the long run. I lost 35 pounds 5 years ago and gained back 60 through the assistance of Menopause and eating again and dinking too much wine! Mother nature was cruel to me but I'm out the other side and happy that I have made this commitment to myself and no one else.
I had stopped working with my trainer because I got burned out and decided to sit on the couch. Then reality hit. I had a colonoscopy (my second) and looked at my weight and BMI from five years ago, my blood pressure and my previous results. Then the same form showed my what was my current weight, my BP was sky high (on meds too) and he found benign, but pre-cancerous polyps in the same place my Mom had her colon cancer and died. Plus my Doc wants to see my back for another in 6 months. I had no indication of anything!! I stared at those results for days, afraid of them and the changes I just knew I had to make. I was really depressed. Nobody can do this for me and I can't pay someone to do it for me. This time it had to come from me. I was at an all time low. I texted my trainer and asked for her help again, signed back onto MyFitnessPal, back onto the South Beach web sight and stopped drinking wine that day. I also went to a weight loss doctor who prescribed some meds for me. TONS of post-menopausal women have issues losing weight no matter what you do, and I was one of them. My thyroid and hormones were tested until I was Blue-in-the-face!!!...and everything was normal. (which was good too)
Prior to my colonoscopy, I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease and metabolic syndrome too. Bad stuff!!!
My husband and I don't eat poorly, He had quadruple by-pass and is diabetic, we just eat too much of the good stuff, and I drank too much wine. We live in Annapolis, MD which is a party-on town and drinking is one of the main events. My husband doesn't drink anymore...maybe a red wine once in awhile or a beer.
I'm happy to say that through the daily logging of my food, my weight loss doc, my trainer and me...I've lost 12 pounds in 4 weeks! The logging of my food is a real key to this. It keeps me honest and on track. I'm addicted to doing it and I love all the reports and info I get.
I just found this forum digging around the web site yesterday.
Looking forward to learning tons of tips and stuff from everyone!!!
Lynn
...and just a plug here....don't be afraid of colonoscopies. This one saved my life.
