I needto lose 75 lbs and regain my health!

Hello. Like most of you, I have tried so many different ways to lose weight. I lost a little everytime, and then gained back more. I am 47 and my health is going down hill. I saw this on the Today show, so I am giving it a try. I need to be here for my 16 year old son. My goal is to lose the weight within 18 months or so. I am also starting a new career in the medical field next June, and I want to be a good example to my patients. I welcome any tips and advise, and wish everyone well. I know how hard this struggle is. It is one I must get in control of.

    That must have been a great show as I have seen where so many have posted that is what compelled them to try MFP! As an encouragement to you, I am 52 years old and started this weight loss journey on January 4th with a goal of losing 40 lbs. As of July, I officially met my goal! And if I can do it, you can do it! I knew that exercise was going to be my weak link so I only committed to 2x a week for just 20-30 minutes. Could hardly make it 20 minutes on the elliptical then. Now I go for 50 minutes and could go further if my brain would quit filling up with reasons to quit! I am in maintenance mode now and love encouraging other women, so if you want to add me as a friend, please do. Also my food diary is public if you want to check it out for any ideas (not all of them good examples, as I too get off the wagon on occasion!!!). Good luck to yoU!
