5 kg in 6 weeks?

Amidst all the the Christmas craze, it's my birthday in 6 weeks. For this, I wanted to set myself a goal of losing 5 kgs. I have about 8 kgs to lose and it seems a lot of people recommend not trying to lose more than .5kg/1lb at this stage - my question is why. My plan was to set my calorie goal at 1100 and eat back my exercise calories (3 days days 40 mins strength training with mild cardio and 3 days of cardio burning up to 550. So I'll be eating anywhere between 1350-1650 - wwhich seems to be a good amount but will theoretically make me llose about .8-1kg/week. Is this a realistic goal or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for responses!

Is it possible? Yes.
Will you be able to do it? Depends on where you are right now. If you're close to your goal probably not.
The problem with setting yourself a specific number is that you could run into a plateau, which you can't control, you could wear yourself out and get frustrated.
How about focusing on some of the NSVs that you could achieve by then?
Set yourself up to have happy birthday and keep what you're doing at a healthy level.0 -
It can be done. I myself have been losing 2lb a week for the last 4 months, but I'm not as close to my goal weight as you are.0

With so little left to lose you might struggle, and I would definitely not go below 1200 per day and maybe eat back half your exercise cals...
Shake up what you are eating, drink loads of water and change your exercise routine times and just accept what your body can shift in this time.
