    My BMI is lower than 94% of females aged 30-44 in Canada, 96% in The States, and 86% in the world. If everyone in the world had the same BMI as me, it would remove 70,130,274 tonnes from the total weight of the world's population

    I am 53% lower than the other US women 30-44, but 83% over the rest of the world.

    This made me laugh out loud. I hate BMI.

    ETA: BMI must not account for muscle, because my poor husband ended up being fatter than the whole world. You wouldn't know it by looking at him. He's rather athletic and he appears much fitter than most other guys his age. Not so, according to the link. :frown:

    For me-my bmi of 19 (it's actually 19.3 but they rounded down), is lower than 94% of fellow American women, 80% lower than other women of the world, if everyone had the same bmi as I did, it would remove 53,633,383 tonnes from the total weight of the world's population, and it looks like I'm really supposed to live in Ethiopia :huh:

    Lower than 97% of males his age group in this country
    Lower than 85% of the world
    And he closest to someone from Bhutan


    Me- I am closest to the BMI of a similar aged female in India.

    I think this is interesting BUT …

    I could be harmful to some people (especially those dealing with or recovering from an ED). I'm bummed to see I'm "fatter" than 61% of women my age world wide. I shouldn't be, but I am. I even understand statistics, and that I'm within 1 standard deviation of the mean, which means I'm "normal." But still, seeing that, makes me kind of want to quickly drop some pounds. I'm right on the border between healthy and overweight BMI and it doesn't take body fat % into account. My goals shouldn't be changed by this, and as I can think logically about it, they aren't, but my gut, emotional reaction is still not very positive (For anyone interested, my goals are to lose maybe 5-10 more pounds, but mostly just body recomp, lose some fat and build some muscle).


    So, like I said, it's interesting. It's kind of fun. But it should not be used as any indication of health or where one "should" be. :flowerforyou:
