Wheat FREE Bread ?

I know how completely ridiculous it sounds but I am serious....

I recently tried to REALLY clean up my diet and my biggest challenge seems to be wheat. I can give up pastas and all of the sweets containing wheat, or wheat types ... but bread is my weakness.

Does anyone have any wheat-free alternatives to bread?

You can make bread with almond flour or oat flour.

You can buy fantastic gluten free breads at most grocery stores these days. 10yrs ago i used to have to make my own. Have you tried any?

In saying that, I only eat 1/2 slice a few times a week under and egg for breakfast, it generally isn't all that great fresh. Toasted is definitely best.

Hodson Mills brand makes a baking mix that's gluten free. A bit grainy but I like the taste.

You could always make your own bread or purchase ready made ones like anything produced by Udi's.

I'm very sorry to hear you have a gluten intolerance. My little sister has Celiac's its terrible to watch her struggle with such a harmful disease. She has no choice if she eats wheat she becomes very sick.

They make plenty of gluen free breads out there, and the even make gluten free flour to make homemade breads.

Try buying Rudi's or Udi's GF Bread it is sold in the frozen section of the supermarket and it is delicious! You would never know that iti isn't containing wheat. Good Luck

Thank you all for your feedback and awesome suggestions. I looked around in the grocery store, but I didn't see any choices otherwise I would've just bought one. I think I'd like to try to make some...and buy some also.

I feel terrible for anyone with an allergy... this is VERY difficult to cut out of my diet... I really feel for anyone who cannot eat wheat/gluten... :(

It's not exactly wheat free, but I eat Ezekiel low sodium sprouted bread. It's all whole grains and keeps you full for hours. :)
Gluten free is not always the best.

I keep reading this thread title as "FREE BREAD". And then I was all "Really? Who gives away free bread on the internet...?"
