Hi all -

I'm almost at 20lbs lost since March of this year. I've been hovering between 188-190 for the past 3 weeks or so. Lately, I've been amping it up since I want to lose a solid 20lbs before my Dr's appointment next Monday. I've been logging everything religiously, drink nothing but water, walking 2.5 miles/day and going to the gym 2x/week to keep the metabolism up. I even had an extra ~450 calories left over from last week. What else is odd, my clothes are still feeling looser and I feel SO much better physically and mentally, but the # on the scale is stubbornly the same.

Whats going on, what am I doing wrong?!!!!

first, STOP focusing on that stupid number on the scale!

Weight is only a tiny piece of the puzzle. You say your clothes are looser and you feel better, isn't that enough? My guess is that you are losing fat and gaining muscle (which weighs more than fat). Twenty pounds is a fantastic loss, you should be so proud of it!

Your diary isn't open so I can't see what you're eating, but my best guess is that after such a loss it is time for you to adjust your goals.

I stall for 2-3 weeks every month. It's a normal part of the process unfortunately. As long as you know you're eating at a deficit (weighing and logging your food properly and not overestimating your exercise calories), just keep doing what you're doing.

Do, by "amping it up," you mean adding more exercise? If so, then you've likely gained water weight, which should flush out of your system once you've become accustomed to your new routine.
