Heya guys ive worked out Tdee etc but still not sure so was hoping that i could get some confirmation and ideas.

Im 5ft7 15.5 stone and i lift weights 4 days a week and play an hour of HIT football once a week.(i do run aswell but as not a plan i dont add it in) I worked out my tdee and if done correctly with 20% deducted it said to eat 2000 a week. Is this correct? i want to lose 2lbs a week if possible or more although i would be happy with the 2 :D Is that also enough calories to lose body fat% as this is important to me also. Ive lost a stone but took me months because i kept stopping and starting and just want to get going for good. I believe i done that because i didnt know for sure i was working it out.(i have read the road map) but still dont get it really. thanks alot guys for any help :D

Based on my calculations (averaging 3 different TDEE calculators) with your lifestyle set to "lightly active" (because I wasn't sure how long or how intensely you lifted weights), 2000 calories is actually about a 29% decrease from your TDEE, so yes you should definitely be able to lose weight on that plan. You could even bump it up a little if you find yourself feeling hungry/deprived or losing too fast. Since you're already lifting weights, a good portion of your weight loss should come from fat, just make sure to get plenty of protein.

With only 27 lbs to lose I would suggest not trying to lose 2lbs/week, that is good if you have 75+ lbs to lose. With only 27, I would suggest a goal of no more than 1lb/week. Too large of a deficit will lead to a larger % of your weight loss coming from lean muscle vs. fat.

wow guys thanks for the responses, i lift heavy weights, normally 3 sets of 12-10-8 increasing weight on reps, i superset my triceps and biceps. i workout for roughly 45 mins each time as i tend not to mess about :D i wasnt sure what to set my activity level too either. Cause im not always sweating and panting after the weights i kinda feel like it dont count( i know silly me)

This is a great point. My bad for not noticing your weight loss goal. I would definitely set it to 1lb a week. You may still lose more, but going with too large of a deficit will make it harder to get your BF% down.

oh really ok, Is it definately safe to say with my workout routine i would be on the lightly active part? I dont work but starting next week only a few hours on my feet in a kitchen.

    My routine is

mon-chest and tri(3 sets of 12-10-8 on 3 different exercises)
    tues-back and biceps(same as above)
wed- 60 mins HIT (five a side football)
    thurs-Shoulders and traps
    Fri-Legs and also normally lats/pullups

Also normall atleast 1-2 2 mile runs but not always constant, i do a 9.5 min mile.

thanks again much appreciated, If this is all correct. can you tell me what my calorie goal should be? i dont mean to be lazy just dont understand all the termonology etc. thanks :D

Hi there, I try to use tdee as I dont have anything to track calories burnt which is hard to add in and eat back.
