Am I going to lose weight eating like this?

Okay, so I've started first day of eating "clean". I'm stuffed. I don't feel a tiny bit hungry, and usually if I feel hungry it means I will lose weight within a week...I'm scared I'm going to gain weight.
I can't imagine me losing weight while being so stuffed.

So eating like this I won't lose weight?

I'm truly stuffed ...there's nothing else I can put in my body.

    I don't think I should force myself...

We must have different definitions of clean eating... Also that's a very low amount of food. Agree with Adini - calorie dense foods will be your friend.

What are calorie dense? English isn't my 1st language.

Not sure what your definition of "clean" is, but I am guessing it's just stopping yourself from eating junk food. You will do more of a disservice to your body if you eat 1000 calories a day. It's really not hard to get in an extra 300 calories. Your body will become hungry - you have to feed it.

What's not "clean" about what I ate? Other than bread...

You will lose weight, BUT it's not healthy weight loss. READ the link above!!!
  • Stuffed on 1000 calories? What were you eating before? How many cals and for how long? If it's been chronic then reverse dieting would be wise.

I've already ate a lot of cheese...maybe one more egg, but that's 70 calories...hmm, I'm not sure what else to eat. Everything in the house is my parent's stuff...(fried or sugary). I could eat fruits but then I would overeat sugars...and I don't like nut butter..

I think that perhaps it's me eating a lot of protein? Before I would mostly eat carbs and fats and daily calorie was about 2000-2500.

Unless you had a medical reason to do so, don't worry about monitoring sugar intake. Eat your fruit if you want.

That isn't a lot of food....the question is...is that something you can 'manintain"?? What about parties, eating out, family holidays? I know there are days that I can get away with eating very little because I've trained myself to not be hungry...but my "splurge" days then create a havoc for me. I think it isn't the fact that you are under (that is desirable) but just how much under you are.

lots of calories in a small amount of food.

for instance, like 8 pounds of celery is 12 calories (not calorie dense) and 1 ounce of almonds has like 150ish+ calories

Agreed... caloric deficit is all you need. Clean eating means NOTHING processed, your Special K bars, Tuna and Bread are all processed with preservatives and additives.

I can tell you it won't matter what you eat if you are not getting at least 1200 calories in each day. Your body, even though you feel stuffed, will go into starvation mode and screw with your metabolism. I eat 6 small meals a day, at first it took soo much disapline to eat like that and I was eating every couple hours I was soo freaking full all the time. After a while your body will get use to it. It's all about a life style change. Nothing wrong with your diary except for the fact that you are eating too little calories. Drink 1/2 your weight in water each day and push to be around 1200-1300 calories every day or you will be disappointed in your weight loss... Obviously you will lose weight at first but then your body is going to come to a halt and start storing fat because it's not getting enough to eat.

Everyone is different in our weight loss challenges... Best of luck to you!!!

I agree with the previous poster - I don't think you're eating enough!

I eat all day long - starting from within an hour of waking up to an hour before bed. That's 3 meals and 3 snacks per day...now, that having been said - and YES, you CAN eat whatever you want as long as there's a calorie deficit - I have to make smart choices about what I'm eating so I still have calories left at the end of the day!

I also find that I drop more weight after days when I've had a lot of protein.

But everybody's different - check your diary; see if you can identify any trends and either repeat the good trends or tweak the "bad" ones until it works for you. :-)

eating as you are you will lose weight, (e.g. people on lighter life eat 500-600cals a day and lose loads) but it isn't fun, isn't sustainable and quite likely you'll end up having a binge and eating loads (i know i would!)
It's good that you've decided to cut out the junk and to eat better in general, but mfp has 1200 as a minimum for a reason, as it's unlikely you'll get enough nutrition in less than that.

a good thing to do is add people as friends, or find people in the losing weight forum with open food diaries you can look at to get some ideas of foods and their contents. sometimes i've been under my calorie goal, mainly if i do lots of exercise, and i don't worry about it too much if i'm not hungry. i'm sure over the next few days i'll eat slightly and it'll average out.

good luck, it's good that you're asking for advice. i do recommend that you read that road to sexypants article though - it's long but definitely worth it.

    good luck :)

    That's what I thought-it will average out.
