Shakeology/ Cheaper Protien

So my question is, I follow all the recipes of shakeology but use a cheaper protien like muscle milk protien. I know shakeology is supposed to help you lose weight and be a meal in istelf, and I know my protien shake is a meal in itself, but will it help me lose weight as well such as the shakeology?

Because Shakeology isn't a protein powder, you won't get the same benefits using a protein powder. Shakeology contains vitamins, minerals, superfoods and a ton more so as much as you'll get lots of protein using Muscle Milk, you absolutely won't get all the benefits.

You don't need either of those items to lose weight. It's the calorie deficit that causes weight loss.

There's no such thing as a 'superfood' it's just food and media hype.
Shakeology doesn't actually 'do' anything to make you lose weight, it's just a waste of money and you can just eat real food instead.

    ^ All of this.

And regarding nutritional differences between shakeology and most whey proteins, get a good multi vitamin and you'll close the gap on most of that anyways.

^^^I'd bet this is a shameless plug for Shakeology.

Now while I don't know all the ingredients in Shakeology, I will say that you can definitely use protein powder in place of their powder. I don't even know what "superfoods" are so while they may be awesome it won't hinder your weight loss if you don't use them ;) Either one you use is replacing a meal.
  • Too bad vitamins in a pill form aren't absorbed nearly as well as vitamins from whole foods and whole food-derived minimally-processed powder. So you're wasting your money either way, according to you.

I think the Garden of Life brand RAW Protein and RAW meal powders are supposed to fit that description.

I have lost my weight w/out relying on protein shakes or Shakeology to make it happen. I do eat a protein bar once a day for the moment I'm in my car being Taxi Momma. Other than that, I meet or exceed half my body weight in grams for protein. It might be okay for you to use, if you are needing convenience, but is not necessary to lose weight with Shakeology.

Shakeology is the cost of my entire grocery budget for the month as a college student. I can not justify spending that until I am making a good, good, good paycheck. $130 for 30 servings. No way nu uh. I stick to my protein powder I can get a target, walmart or GNC. Unless someone will pay for my shakeology then I will try it

Well, Shakeology sure doesn,t fit the minimally priced part.
I had not realized Shakeology was that much money! Here I thought regular protein/meal replacement powders were expensive at $40 a canister!

Our pastor's wife does Shakeology, I think. She hasn,t lost weight in the year I've known her. I can't imagine having $130 a month to waste on stuff that's not working for me.
