I love my Asics with a gel sole.

I had a similar issue when I was using basketball shoes on the treadmill. I switched to a light weight running shoe that fits well and I don't have a problem any more. I don't have a specific brand recommendation. I think any good running shoe that fits correctly should work. Good luck.

I've had New Balance shoes for a long time, they always work great for running outside, on a treadmill, or elliptical, etc.
  • I would suggest going to a local running store and being fitted for the proper shoe. It can be expensive but well worth the investment if you plan to use the treadmill lots. I have had a good experience at Fleet Feet.
