high protein vegetarian menu

My weight loss has sort of stalled and to give it a jolt, was thinking of going on a low carb - high protien diet. However cannot think of too many options beyond beans and lentils. I am lactose intolerant also..
Any suggestions/ meal - snack ideas wud be greatly appreciated.

You didn't mention that you were vegan, so I'm going to suggest eggs and *possibly* lactose-free dairy if you can handle it.

You don't say how "low" on carbs you want to go, but tofu and plain greek (strained) yogurt (the lactose is mainly in the liquid part of the yogurt that gets strained off, so you might be able to tolerate it) have decent protein-to-carb ratios. Some cheeses are fairly low in lactose, depending on how they're made, so you might be able to find some you can tolerate. You could also look at different kinds and brands of unsweetened nondairy "milks" (almond, soy, etc.) to see if the proteint-to-carb ratio works for your goals. Nuts and nut butters are going to run about 1:1 on proteins to carbs, if you stick with no-added-sugar nut butters. But eggs are really your best vegetarian (not vegan) bet to max out the protein-to-carb ratio. (Even beans are going to give you more carbs than protein.)

Try Soya beans in your cooking. Also for snacks, get walnuts, pistachios, almonds, pumpkin and sunflower seeds and they are a great source. You can try kidney beans(rajma), black beans for cooking. Oh, if you like edamame, that a good source too

Your profile doesn't say we're you live, but here in the UK you can buy a cookbook by rose Elliott on low carb high protein for vegetarians for fairly cheap on Amazon.

Lactose-free vegetarian here too. How about tofu?? My breakfast every day is a tofu scramble - I love it! You can add veggies to it and cheese also (i use either cheddar, swiss or american) to increase the fiber and protein. I usually add a carb to it also but you could skip that or go for something like a whole wheat wrap.

Seitan? It's pretty high protein. Can be a little tricky to find, Whole Foods has it though. Has a more "meaty" texture.
Tempeh? I don't like it myself, but it's cheap & easier to find and high protein also.

Eggs.... peanut butter... almonds/nuts... soy milk (the other milks aren't as high protein)... edamame... hummus....
