I just picked up a protein powder. Its called pure protein natural whey protein. It has 100 cals per 27g scoop, 15g protein, and 3g fibre. Im not sure if i should be using this as a meal replacement, before or after a work out or as a snack. I mostly do cardio, some weights. When is the best time for me to drink this. Once a day? Twice? Im very clueless when it comes to this kind of stuff.

It's not a meal replacement, just a supplement for your nutrition. Think of it as a multivitamin that you take to help make sure you get enough vitamin A or C or whatever.

Take it whenever you want if you need more protein in a given day.

If you want it to be a meal replacement, you can blend it with a cup of milk, a banana, and a tablespoon or two of peanut butter for a 400-500 calorie meal, but the protein itself isn't a meal.
  • I usually have 1C milk with 1/2 scoop protein powder with whatever my 2 snacks of the day are. Kinda like chocolate milk. I've used it in smoothies before with Chobani yogurt, 1/2 scoop, fruits, and cinnamon...pretty yummy snack. For me it just helps add in a bit more protein. A friend of mine cooks with it, adds it to cheesecake and muffins, but I haven't become that dedicated to it. For me it's a great replacement for chocolate milk because I hate regular milk. Hope that helps :)
