Does everyone overeat sometimes?

I accidentally overate by 2000 calories in nuts and fruit today. I used to suffer from anorexia that was followed up by a period of binge-eating and I'm terrified that this will cause a relapse even though it's been almost a year.

Is it normal for everyone to have days (I was super hungry today for some reason) when they overeat their calories? I eat a really clean diet since I eat a ton and exercise a lot. Do you think I'm worrying over nothing? Would it be ok if I ate until I was satisfied at meals tomorrow or should I cut down on calories?

One day shouldnt make much of a difference. I have been gulity also of doing this once or twice a week'when i over shoot my dialy calorie intake. Its usualy because i have not been eating enough protein or low gi foods or its because im dehyrated so consider drinking half a litre of water first before consuming anything. Beyond that, if your exercise is increasing, maybe review your tdee as you might need more calories to combat the amount of exercise and daily activity your doing.

One day, is not going to hurt you in the grand scheme of things. Everyone has days where they are way hungrier than others, it can depend on the type of food you had that day, it could be hormonal, you could be a little ill and your body wants something extra or if you have been working out really hard - people feel famished.

Nuts and some fruit are quite high in calories, but they are also very good for you. So eating them when your body is telling you that you are hungry is a good thing.

I have been very satisfied most days on my goal calories, if you are hungry a lot at your goal, then maybe that isn't enough calories for you, or you need to change some of the calories to things that make you feel full for longer.
Going over calories one day or even a couple of days is perfectly ok, just get back to a reasonable amount of calories again when you can.

2000 calories of fruit and nuts doesn't sound like a binge and neither does it sound unhealthy. Take care of yourself, and try not to worry about one or two days in the big picture.

Write it off as a binge day and move forward with clean healthy eating.

I would never recommend a low calorie day for someone with a history of ED.

Nor do you need to punish yourself for eating by forcing yourself to burn it off with exercise.

It was one bad day. Chin up, chest out, move forwards :) put it behind you.

Please don't advise someone recovering from an ed to fill up on water before eating.

And op, dont waste any energy on a blip, dont worry. Draw a line and move forward. Everyone has the odd day like this.

NP i was just insinuating that if she was""dehyrated" then the body may need water to "rehydrate" which occurs in every human being regardless of your condition. I dont recall saying to drink water as a food supplement.Plus i was refering to my own experiences not telling her what to do. But either way i am just here to offer helpful advice ;)
