Bad back! :(

So I seem to have done something to my back.
My fiance sprained his ankle during football on Friday and was limping around Saturday with my help. He is quite big and was quite heavy to support. I woke up Sunday morning with back pain which lasted till yesterday. It was better this morning, but after sitting at my desk since 8.30am (it is now 4.30pm), am feeling uncomfortable again. It is no longer proper pain, just a discomfort, but I don't want to do any proper exercise and risk it getting worse.
So I missed aerobics Sunday, Zumba yesterday and Aerobics today. I still walk to and from work, which is 40 minutes a day, but I am feeling really down mentally and physically as I'm so used to exercising all the time.
Does anyone know any effective, safe exercises for people with back pains? I do not want to make my back worse, so I don't want to do my normal exercise routine at home (which is an hour of Zumba followed by 20 minutes of full body weight training - body weight).
If the answer is 'rest your back and exercise when you are better' I will listen, but am getting frustrated being completely sedentary and would like to move a little bit, safely, if at all possible!
Thanks in advance people!

My best advice would be go see a doctor. Worst case scenario it could be that you herniated a disc and in this case you should limit any lifting of heavy objects. Other than that rest your back - apply warm compresses, try stretching? I myself have a bad back so I feel your pain. Wish you a quick recovery!0

Thank you! I will definitely be doing some core conditioning classes once my back gets better so it doesn't happen again. Fingers crossed it is just something little and goes away.0

Since you still hurt, but are feeling better, I wouldn't go all in and work out like you did before but I also wouldn't panic. You could just have strained your back a bit/pulled something.
I would try incrementally doing more exercise and see how it goes. If the pain gets worse, stop. If it doesn't get better, go see your doctor.
note that I am not a health professional and that this is just what I'd do. If I was in severe pain, I'd go to the doctor.0
