YAY! Today is day 3 of no coffee for me NOR any taffy apples! I rededicated myself last week to getting this flab & fat off and started slowly by walking again (trying to make 10,000 steps per day) AND watching my foods and drink consumption.

Last Friday, I read this post.... Just do it! NO EXCUSES! 1 year / PICS TO PROVE
https://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1108167-just-do-it-no-excuses-1-year-pics-to-prove?page=2

After reading this, something "snapped" in me--a "Light" went off and I decided I would do what it takes for me (everyone is different and I KNOW what it'll take for me to lose this yucky and ugly flab/fat) for me, I need to say NO to somethings and YES to other things. One of those things I must say NO to is coffee and junk. Now coffee and junk can be good for some. The person that lost this weight did it eating junk---but for me, coffee is an addiction, because I DETEST it black or lightly sweet. I've GOT to have it loaded to the maximum (4-7 tablespoons AT LEAST) of flavored/sweet creams.).

My handsome and skinny husband KNOWS I am a junky for gourmet and fatty filled taffy apples...he knows I restarted my "diet" (I'm not ashamed nor afraid of that word "diet" for me...it's the ONLY way to live and be successful in my lifestyle--a forever diet  ) of saying no to things most people say yes or just a bit too--like coffee and taffy apples. So my beloved husband Sunday (day one of my Mission SLIMPOSSIBLE) brings home 12 HUGE and most fabulous looking gourmet taffy apples for me mainly and our children also. Isn't he the darling?!?

Long story short...this is day 3 of NO coffee and NO taffy apples...and there are yet 6 more of these giant sized taffy apples on my counter, they are getting old, cause I ain't touching them. Why? Because I can honey, I CAN, not eat junk just because it's there and I want it--cause I'm STRONG like that (that's what I'm telling myself) I'm on a mission, mission SLIMPOSSIBLE and so far---I'm WINNING and feeling GREAT!!! :drinker: :smooched: :drinker:

Congrats to you and you have some awesome willpower! Everyone is different and many of us have trigger foods (like your coffee and taffy apples!!) that we just cannot even have a bit of without causing a storm of bingeing. I believe pretty much everything in moderation, but if it's a trigger food or drink, it's best to just let it go. Best of luck as you move forward in your journey!

Thanks so much for posting. Ya know, I didn't really look at it as "trigger foods", but ya know what--that's exactly what these are for me. I find myself reaching for a fatty/creamy cup of coffee when I get frustrated or antsy. And loading up on sugary fatty/fried snacks when I'm feeling "entitled" or something...The wonderful thing is, in these past few days of not going for these things, I'm having more energy somehow and am catching myself/making myself deal with frustration in other ways other than drinking coffee and pigging out on snacks.

Right now, one of the children are baking banana nut bread (my favorite) and a seven layer chocolate, coconut cake and the smell is nothing less than phenomenal--but ya know what? EVERYONE in here is slim and trim except me, so I'm just handing the delicious smells as if they are "aroma therapy" and certainly could have some if I wanted, but for the next 30 days, I'm trying to train myself NOT to have certain things, just because I want them or because the look and smell good. I want to learn how to eat and drink stuff like goodies because I "want to" not because I "HAVE to" or else I'll feel deprived or binge...I'm sick of the crappy way I've living and thinking, eating and drinking. I sick of being FAT/FLABBY! I'm the BOSS of my body, at least that's one of my goals in operation Slimpossible, to exercise more self-control and show my mind and body whose the REAL boss of me:wink:

Willpower is one helluva thing. And when you have motivation giving you the momentum to not give up nothing is impossible! You are absolutely right about being aware of what to say "NO!" to. We all have our triggers that pull us back into those habits we no longer want. Knowing what you triggers are and then telling them they cannot -- and will not! -- stop you from your goal is a spectacular mindset to have. Keep going! You can do this!!

Ya know what I've got that's been missing for so long too? A VISION! I am actually seeing myself at 140 pounds--I actually am seeing myself slowly but surely melting day by day. Of course, with this vision of a slimmer healthier me, I'm also seeing myself
saying YES to what I KNOW will get me there and NO to what won't. I got a long road ahead of me!
