This is up there with "How many calories do I burn when I don't get a seat on the bus", or "How many calories do I burn when I get sat next to a large person on a domestic flight and have to spend the flight squished into the corner of my seat to avoid body contact".

Answer: Doesn't matter. At all. You're never, ever going to get that accurate a calorie burn, so don't worry your pretty little head.

Still not as good as "do I eat the calories burned while sleeping"

I'd answer you in full, but I don't have enough snacks at work to eat back the calories burned typing ;)

If you take Ambien, you take care of that.

I'd say you burn calories while getting tattoo'd - your body is technically in a state of 'stress', your heart rate elevates and if you're like me, you tend to sweat - so sure, why not!

I wouldn't suggest logging it as a genuine exercise though haha :)

This might be a crazy question but I would like to know. Do you burn more calories while you are getting tattooed than you would if you were just sitting for the same amount of time? I just sat for a 3.5/4 hour tattoo session on the back of my leg. During that session I had to keep my calf muscle tight because my legs twitch when I get tattooed (don't know why but they do). In addition to that, you are putting a lot of stress on your body and as the tattoo artist hits various tender spots the body's natural reaction is to flinch causing multiple muscles to contract for some time. Also, no matter when I ate last, I am always hungry after a session and need to eat right afterwards. Does this mean I am burning more calories than just sitting at my desk at work and if so, how many calories are burned per hour (approx.)?

Sometimes I'm stressed. Does that burn more calories?

Well, if you believe the cortisol woo, you gain weight when you're stressed.

No. You don't burn more calories just because your heart rate goes up and you sweat. If that were the case, people could get thin just by watching scary movies in a hot place. You only burn more calories when you actually move more.
