Hi Everyone,

Does anyone has any good ideas for ab workouts? I have never been good about working on my midsection but I want to give it a another chance. Will I get results by doing 100 crunches a day (25 of four different types). Or would planks give me better results? Any and all suggestions would be terrific!

Thanks!

I have a Reebok stability ball that came with a workout DVD. I used it for the first time last night and, if soreness is any indicator, it really kicks butt. Good sore, not I-think-I-tore-something sore.

PLanks are great for the core -- not just the abs but lower back as well.

For abs I like the power 90 abs. 200 sit ups of different types in 6 minutes -- OWIE.

But I have also see the 200 sit up challange http://www.twohundredsitups.com/index.html

Those are my ideas and what I like. You could alternate or do both each day as well. It wont hurt. Abs are muscles that you can technically work out every day. -- although ensure atleast 1 day of rest.
  • I have the Insanity by Shane T and I do the Cardio Abs DVD every night and it is only 15 mins long. No crunches. I do high and low planks.

He has a workout called Hip Hop Abs and all I have heard about this workout is that people love it. This is going to be the next workout that I am going to be buying.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks! The 200 challenge actually looks doable. :-)
