calorie math - I Might Be Failing

Okay so lets say on Friday I had 500 calories over what I should. Would I be able to subtract those calories from saturday and still lose weight?

Thanks for answering my weird question.
Im sick of going over my daily limit

Yes, but it's not ideal to take 500 entire calories out of an already weight-losing amount that you were planning to eat on Friday. Better to overlook it and just keep trying to eat a good amount of food daily. No extremes!

If you are sick of going over, stop going over :flowerforyou:

I work on a weekly average, usually, quite low (at a level some would criticise) 5 days a week and 2 days, generally the weekend where I'm way 'over'. If I work it right, it averages out and I still lose.

If your settings are to lose 1 lb a week then you have a daily calorie deficit of 500 cals. If you eat an extra 500 less the next day you'll have a 1k deficit and will probably be very hungry and be setting yourself up to fail. Just move on and stay within your daily cut as best as you can is my advice.

If you are having trouble with a 500 cut change your settings to a 300 cal cut. You'll lose a little slower but if it helps you stick with things in it's quicker in the long run.

I usually try to be 100 cals under sunday to thursday so that i have 500 extra for the weekend. look at your weekly goal not daily.

but as others have said, if you're sick of going over, stop going over... the only person in control of that is you!

There's nothing magical about a 24 hour period. If your calories averaged over the whole week are on target, then you're good. Calorie cyclcing - having a different amount each day - is fine, it's the total or average over time which matters.

    BUT

Why do you keep going over? Do you plan your days in advance?
