Been gone a while - need some friends!

Hi everyone.
I'm a twenty-three year old college student from Southern California. I've been on and off the fitness path for over a year now but received some uncomfortable news this past weekend. My blood pressure is higher than usual and because of my blood sugar issues, family history, BMI and body weight, I am now deemed pre-diabetic. My doctor warned me that if I do not get down to a healthier weight and cut the sweets and heavy unhealthy fats from my diet, I will likely develop type one diabetes within the next two years.
Being the daughter of a man who overcame his type two diabetes with dedication, motivation, plenty of exercise and a strong, healthy diet, I know how important and possible this is. I really need to get into shape and eat well. Not simply for feeling good in my clothing, or looking good for others and myself, but for my own health. I don't want to suffer the way my loved ones have because of a few bad decisions.
A lot of good friends of mine have disappeared. Either from not logging in or deleting, I am without many good friends. :frown:
If you are trying to lose weight, want to exchange motivation, want someone to talk to, or simply want a friend along for the ride of this journey, please send a request. I don't bite and I love talking to people from all walks of life.
My goal is to lose roughly 50lbs, which will put me right in the ball park for my height and age.
Hope to talk to some of you soon!

Kmuree, I know how you feel. I am pretty much in this alone as well. My sisters encourage me but they have nothing to lose. I'm here looking at a 120 pound weight loss need and it is slow going to say the least. I am going to be working with a trainer for the first time TODAY and am really excited about that. I also have a number of health problems and was recently admitted with chest pain. Thank goodness my heart and surrounding organs are all fine and functioning properly; it was deemed muskuloskeletal from my weight. I am not yet pre-diabetic but it is always something that is in the back of my mind, since I work in the medical field. I would be more than happy to chat with you.0

It's so difficult when most of the people around me that I work with and interact with daily are slim and lack the same issues! I'd be more than happy to take this journey with you. I'm so happy you're getting the opportunity to work with a trainer today! My tennis coach has been acting as one twice a week for those in my class so it's been so beneficial; I'm sure you are going to love it! I'm so glad you're not in any immediate danger but wake-up calls and close calls are always nerve wracking nonetheless! Thank you for reaching out.
