Hi! I have the same problem! When I list the items I consumed for breakfast, I already exceed the limits of sugar eating fruit, cereal, raisins, yogurt...
Have you found any info about this???0 -

Watch for yogurt that is "low fat" or "fat free", that typically means more sugar. It may mean more fat, but there is less sugar. Even the "original" Yoplait is only 1.5 grams of fat, so the "fat free" isn't really that far off from the original.
Berries are lower than an apple or orange so you're already eating what is lower sugar fruit. Do you eat "lite" or "fat free" things like dressings? Those may be lower in fat grams, but replace it with more sugar.0 -
I am afraid to tell you my opinion on this. Guys please remember this is my OPINION. I am not quoting anything scientific only what worked for me. I was on many other failed diets before I found MFP. All those diets plans considered fruits and veges "free foods." So instead of breaking bad habits, like say emotional eating, I just reached for the carrots! lol. Anyhow with MFP i started logging my fruits and veges. I too, was shocked with how much sugar was in fruits! I did research and learned all about processed sugars vs natural. Got it. But it still was driving me crazy busting my sugar intake everyday. So, I eat an apple or a banana a day or both but no juices or fruit "grazing" anymore. I buy sugar free when I can and no more crystal lights or Gatorade. Nope. I am trying to break the coffee creamer habit but have resorted to sugar free and suck up the 45 cals or so a day. As long as you are taking vitamins, I think every food should be eaten in MODERATION, even fruits.0

Sihlouette greek yougart is no added sugar about 5 carbs per 100g serving, the strawberry is the best in my opinion and the apple is weird and tastes like fake apple perfume but it's rich, thick and creamy, definetely worth a try!0

Thanks i'll watch out for that.. yes i usually do go for anything that says low in fat/salt or light .. you think your doing something good and its not that great in the end lol0 -
Unless there is a medical reason to reduce sugar...fruit sugar is much healthier for you that processed sugar. No one ever got fat eating too much fruit. Just sayin.
YES sugar has calories. But your body processes fruit sugar differently than "fructose" especially because fruit has fiber with slows down how quickly your body absorbs the sugar...so it doesn't SPIKE your blood sugar like a cookie would.
Trading out completely natural fruit for sugar free chemicals seems silly.
*I don't eat completely clean or whole foods only...but I do know that having a pear or banana isn't going to hurt me. When I did WW the "free" fruits and veggies aren't what kept me from losing...it was the emotional eating/donuts/fast food that kept me from losing.0 -

ive been there.. other diets never worked for me, but ive found one that works at last and as for the 5 a day thing i struggle with that.. i used to drink alot of creamy sweet coffee but ive cut right down to 1-2 a day .. i need the caffeine to get me through the day and stay awake, i found bananas gave me the instant kick start too so would have them instead of coffee but the sugars that high argh!0 -

ill try that thank you0 -
Lose the raisins.
Berries are lowest in sugar, bananas are amongst the highest.
Use natural greel yoghurt rather than flavoured stuff.
What cereal are you eating?0 -

i should start by ditching the coffee completely then really , thats the only thing i add sugar too and i dont like sweetners. the ready made diet meals have lower than normal sugar salt fat etc. think ill have to shuffle them about to sort out my sugar allowance if i need to continue eating fruit too.0 -
Do you have a medical reason to limit sugar? If not, then don't worry about it.0

no i dont0 -
guys, balanced diet is the key. Cut out unnecessary sugar from your chocolates, tea, coffee, cakes etc. Eat about 2 to 3 portions of various fruits a day...preferably berries but do note that ALL fruits have essential nutrients like minerals and vitamins and not just sugar. Try eating whole fruits instead of juices/smoothies.
too much of anything is bad for you, well, too much protein taxes your liver!! so again, follow balanced diet and live your life :-)0 -
Thank you!
Cornflakes with no sugar, shall I change my cereals?0 -
porridge is better than cornflakes...more fibre and low GI....0

I was eating a ton of grapes, then I realized what you did, so I switched to Strawberrys!! they have the least sugar, and watermelon, grapefruit and nectarines, but I cut my fruit to 1 - 1 1/2 serving a day, eat more veggies/protein.0
