Welcome! You can add me if you like. I thought that as a "newbie" you might benefit from reading some of the links below. I wish someone had shown them to me sooner.

Anyway, it's a start. There are many very helpful links if you look for them.

    TIPS:

    1) Don't take random people's advice without doing a little research of your own. There's a difference between "knowledgeable people" and those who just think they are.

    2) If you don't already have one, grow a thick skin (and a sense of humor) before entering the forums. Some of the members can come across as bit harsh, but they generally mean well. It's been my experience that the more blunt members are the ones who know what they are talking about.

    3) Determine exactly what your goals (long-term and short-term) are before committing to any particular "diet" or exercise program as some of the popular choices may be counter-productive to what you are trying to achieve.

    Good luck to you.

Hey everyone! 26 year old guy looking for someone to maybe work together with at losing some weight. I started at 275 lbs in December 2011, and I'm down to 215 lbs. I have 45 more pounds to lose to get to my ultimate goal of 170, which would be about 10% body fat. Is anyone interested in possibly competing against each other for fun? Shoot me a message if you are, and we can compare stats! :)

Thank you so much! My final goal is not to be super skinny, I could care less about that! I want to be healthy and hopefully fit!! I do have a personal trainer at my gym right now, but we are just starting out!! Thank you for warning me about the forums, I actually prefer for information to be blunt and to the point. Tell me if I am doing something wrong......and how I can fix it!! LOL

Thank you for the links and I will be checking them out ASAP!!

And thank you everyone for the help!!!

    Hi,
I won't be the most talkative person on your friends list, but I'm helpful whenever I can be.
