Low calorie Pre-Workout snack..Needing Ideas??

I am on 1470 cal a day. I sometimes feel lightheaded, kinda faint & jittery anything over 30 min into a workout. I do NOT think it has anything to do with the amount of calories I am on because it was also doing it when I was at 1700 cal a day. I am thinking that I am not fueling my body before working out. It doesn't even have to be anything strenuous and I get those feelings-just a simple 30 min walk on the treadmill. I used to eat a banana right before getting on the treadmill but I'm being told I need to give it a window of about 45 min-1 hr and then workout out after a small snack. I don't have a lot of calories to play with so I need ideas. I start back using the gym today so I know that I am going to need more fuel....Maybe an apple or pear beforehand? Something that can get that blood sugar where it needs to be. I am thinking my blood sugar drops after I am into a workout for 30 min or more.

    Hi

    I always have a protein shake 45 minutes before my workout. I prepare my own

    whey protein isolate
    one banana
    one cup skim milk

    It is enough to keep me going for the entire workout
    I have whey protein isolate mixed with water, right after I finish my workout

    I do plan on having the protein afterwards but before is my concern.
  • perhaps a banana and/or cheese stick. tablespoon of peanut butter on a piece of wheat bread.
  • almonds do it for me, I start at 12 knowing a serving is 28 pieces
