Tendonitis - Resting and calorie intake Questions

I have been signed off work for 2 weeks and ordered by the doctor to rest my foot/ankle.
What should I be doing to help the healing process?
Should I reduce my calorie intake because I am going to be doing very little or wait and see? Currently eating 1500 calories a day.
Thanks

I hurt my knee, so all I do is aqua aerobics every now and then, but since I use MFP's number (where I would add my exercise separately) and not TDEE (where it would already contain my exercise for the week), it has not made a difference really.0
